Salisbury

This project involved the refurbishment and re-modelling the existing cottage and removing existing extension/alterations to restore the property to its original character.  Although a Listed Building, the cottage had suffered from poorly designed extensions and internal alterations.

Our role included the re-establishment of the original "cottage" plan and its integration into a re-modelled, full width extension to the rear.

Conservation re-pointing of defective or missing joints within the facing brickwork was carried out using lime/sand mortar.  These will blend with the existing jointing in due course.

The existing outbuilding to the rear of the cottage was opened up to reveal and express its origins as a blacksmith's forge.

The space was converted into a Garden Room with glazed oak sliding doors under a loggia giving views across the River Avon.
